EPP
- Is it possible to convert a foreign EPP keyboard to UK spec?
- TestLink can offer an exchange service for keyboards with plastic and metal tips. Please contact our sales team.
- What could be the problem with the NCR 5886 ATM? The FDK and the EPP pin pad are freezing. When it does this you cant press any key and the machine is quite and no error is shown.
- This may be an EPP or encryption fault. Try resetting the EPP and reloading the keys. Next try replacing the EPP. Check when the failure occurs that all the devices can be seen from the operator panel to eliminate an SDC problem. Does the fault occur when running diagnostics like ATMdesk? If not try a software reload.
- Do we really have to replace the Epp (usb) if it is tampered , or how can we recuperate a tampered and make it work once again, is it possible ? Cause everytime we got epp tampered we replaced it and let it as faulty ,, is there any software we can use??
- Unfortunately an EPP cannot be reset or repaired once it is "tampered". This is a security requirement set by EMV.
- hi Martin how do you fix dsyfunctional left and right buttons which you select Accounts, denominations etc in 6625, 6626 and 6634 monitor Part No: 009-0024946 the buttons are all inactive but the EPP is active customers can put their PIN numbers from there then they are stucked, until they cancel from the EPP to get their cards.
- The FDK keys on the 66XX series ATMs are controlled by the miscellaneous interface PCB not by the EPP as in earlier models. If all the FDK keys are not working then you need to check the connections to the interface board which is mounted under the PCcore. Replace the PCB if this does not cure the problem 4450709370.
- i have a challenge here with NCR 6634 coming with Pinpad is in an error state. i have twice resolved the error with unplugging the USB cable from the EPP or Misc i/f board then plug it back my concern now is the error keeps on coming after 3 to 4 days i dont know if to replace the EPP or the misc i/f board.
- The EPP in the 6634 is not connected to the misc i/f board. It is connected directly to the core through a USB hub. Try resetting the EPP using ATMdesk but if this is not successful you will have to replace the EPP itself.
- hi Martin help me decode the following error msgs for epp:- ALPHA_KEYBOARD KEYB-01-USBEPP2 S-DATA(HEX):04 M-Status:80 M-Data(HEX):01 T-Code:1 AND ENCRYPTOR Severity:4 S- Data(HEX):04 M-Status:80 M-Data(HEX):01 T-Code:1
- You need to specify the ATM model type but for the EPP2 M-status 80 is "USB communications error" Try reseating cables and testing with ATMdesk
- Hi Martin, Q: We have brand new EPP having part number 445-0662614R for NCR Persona 5877, after assemble on ATM it showing EPP but its keys not working and restart the ATM again and again. why not it work? what should we do so that we can operate them positively?
- It may be that the EPP need to be re-initialised. Use ATMdesk to re-init the EPP. There will also be an option in Aptra to re-init the EPP which can be used in addition to the ATMdesk test.
SDC / Core
- What is the maximum length of an SDC bus without termination?
- An SDC bus should always be terminated at both ends.
- Am having challenges with an NCR ATM 5684.Its giving me SDC CORE STARTUP ERROR SPAM/ DISC ASIC, This comes when booting. Before windows loads.
- Try disconnecting all devices from the SDC bus except the EPP then reboot the ATM. If it boots OK then power off, connect one device and then power on. When you find the ATM does not boot then replace or clear NVRAM on the last device connected. If it does not boot with just EPP connected then you may have a faulty EPP or SDC cabling. At each stage try clearing NVRAM on the core.
- I want to know the correct dip switches (1-8) configuration from a self service adaptor(445-0706441). This board is used to power the PC core main board.
- The correct settings for use with extended serial ports is switches 2, 4 and 8 switched down (towards PCB)
ATM Diagnostics
- Could you please advise us on the test-links ATM diagnostic software? Could this software be used for all ATM types for example for all NCR type?
- Testlink's ATMdesk diagnostic software functions on all NCR ATM models.
The /2 version supports 56XX, 58XX and 53XX model ranges. The /S version supports the 66XX selfserv model range. The /pro version combines both the above and supports all NCR model ranges.
- I am looking for a way to test Smart Card Readers. I see you have a Test card - would that be all I need to fully test the Smart Card Reader??
- Along with the test card you will need diagnostic software. ATMdesk is capable of fully testing the Smart Card Readers from NCR
- Hi Martin , How can we upgrade the atmdesk dongle in order to be able to perform dispense test while doing our cash dispenser test . we've got the pro atmdesk diagnostic but we can't do dispense test .
- Your ATMdesk dongle is set to "safe mode". You need to log on to your ATMdesk account, insert your dongle and untick the safe mode box. Depending on you account type you may need to use your manager's account
- P84 ATM had EPP fault. I replaced and performed instal start. All was okay but ATM had trouble going into service. After several attempts it went into service but when cash ran out, custodians couldn't take it out of service. After re-booting it several times it went out of service and that was the last time the ATM ever worked. I replaced Operator panel on suspicion that the in-service switch was faulty. I got another EPP, replaced PC Core, PSU including transformer and interlock board as well as Miscellaneous interface board. I removed the entire cable tree and tested it for shorts. No shorts were found. After 3 months the bank decommissioned the ATM. Two years later I have the same exact problem but this time on a P86 ATM. Any suggestions?
Part Numbers
- May you help , I need a Part number for the presenter shaft with two rubber rollers , they tranfer the purged money to the purge bin
- Assuming a P86 presenter, the early model with foam rollers was 445-0657845 upper shaft and 445-0654953 lower shaft. Later model presenters had 4 soft plastic rollers with 445-0708453 lower and 445-0704505 upper shaft. There are many alternative numbers and the rollers are available on their own - 445-0672118.
- I need a part number for the BNA shutter assy (NCR 6634, UD-686), left side location when standing face to face of an ATM (or right side as seen from the safe door).
- The part number for the BNA shutter in a 6634 is 445-0710815 or 445-0713958
- Could you please tell me the PN of preventive lock ("red flag") for card slot that doesn't let customer insert card when the IMCRW is pulled out for service?
- For a 66XX the red flag is 445-0706466 for the 5886/7 it is 445-0645286
- I would like to upgrade the NCR 5684 to EMV. What are the contents of the EMV upgrade kit?
- To upgrade to EMV you will need to ensure you have and SCRW and an EPP. On older models you may need a HiBAPE upgrade kit fitted before upgrading to EPP.
- I cant installed this card reader (445-0693332) in to atm-5870, tell me the parts and part number that i need to do?
- To convert to IMCRW you will also need the following: 009-0022302 (RS232 data harness), 009-0017905 (IMCRW power harness) and 445-0691381 (adapter plate)
Dispenser
- What causes Pick failures on NCR ATMs?
- Pick failures can be caused by many things: Worn suction cups, Leaking vacuum pipe, Worn vacuum pump, Broken pick line, Incorrectly adjusted "D" timing, Poor quality notes, Incorrectly setup cassette rails, Dirty or broken pick sensor, Broken vacuum switch
- What would be the solution for the bills always getting on the clamp if a self-test is done in four cassettes and if you leave any two cassettes in any slot it tested OK? This usually happens on a NCR 6634
- I am not sure why 4 cassettes would be treated any differently to 2 cassettes during a self test. The best option is to run a diagnostic program like ATMdesk to pinpoint failures to one cassette or module. Multiple note dispenses are also available with this diagnostic software
- What could be the problem with the bill which get stack on the stacker? The bills cannot move to the reject on the NCR 6634 ATM. The error does not clear and physically the belts on the clamp are all in place.
- This may be a transport sensor problem. The best way to diagnose is to run the sensor tests in ATMdesk or equivalent
- The 6634 ATM the Dispenser board had a short and halted the function of the Dispenser. After replacing the Dispenser board and the Presenter, the ATM is still quiet. What could be the problem?
- If the ATM is completely dead it can be for a number of reasons:
Bad mains connection (check under top module tray) Blown input fuse Blown PSU Blown Miscellaneous I/F PCB Fault PIRAT PCB
- i had a power outage then after the atm 5685 came up with Main Tdisk fail error M-Status 16 this is an I.E Presenter i tried replacing tdisk sensor but the error persisted then i tried dispensor board but still the error persisted
- Does the motor still turn when running a clear test? If yes then the sensor or control board may be at fault. Check also that no wires have backed out of the connectors to the control board. If the motor does not run then check that the interlock is working (listen for the click) the check there is mains voltage at the motor and the SSR. Finally if you have mains voltage at the motor them change the motor and the start capacitor.
- Hello, I need to replace a NCR cassette door. What is the best practice and do you have a replace step by step guide
- The trunk door can be replaced by removing the side rails and releasing the 5 screws holding the base of the cassette. Be sure to grease the sliding parts and check that the side shutter springs are not broken.
- This is the fault that we are experiencing in some of our atm’s,they will come with a message that says type1 and 2 are inoperable these are aria picks and normal gear picks for NCR 5685 and 6625
- Failure to dispense from a cassette can be caused by several reasons: Pick failure, configuration error, faulty pick module timing or faulty pick I/F PCB. The best way is to get more detailed fault information / tests by using ATMdesk
- what could be the cause for an atm 5685 pick modules when you run a test all bills will be picked in four canisters when i put the atm back in to service atm is failing to pay a single note of 50 but for all notes( 200, 100 and 20) a single note can be withdrawn and this will cause all pick modules to be inoperable and immediately i pull back the 50 note canister and clear fitness all the atm will service without fail.
- Check the "D" timing on the pick module is correct and the note configuration is set correctly. Swap the 50 cassette to other positions and see if the fault is with the cassette or the module. Check that all gears and bearings on the modules are in good condition. Consider test dispensing with ATMdesk to see if the software is having an effect.
- HI martin, How can I correctly set LVDT on the ATM?
- Only very early LVDTs on Pre IE presenters had an adjustment procedure on the LVDT itself. All later LVDTs and NTSs are auto calibrating. You need to pass at least 255 notes through the presenter to calibrate the LVDT to the dispenser control PCB. This can be done using test notes and ATMdesk loop tests. This calibration should be carried out whenever a new LVDT or DCB is fitted or whenever the NVRAM is cleared.
- what causes notes jam on the ATM? What is the main function of pick sensor module and SDC?
- Note jams can happen for many reasons (ie bad quality notes, worn belts, faulty sensors etc) Narrow the fault down by running ATMdesk using test notes. The pick sensor's function is to confirm a note has been picked and measure the note width. SDC is the communication bus for modules in 56XX and 58XX ATMs. For more in depth information please look at our training courses.
- last time on an ATM NCR MODEL 5875 , I've got a heartbeat failure Mstatus 32 on my cash dispenser . I've replaced the main board of my cash dispenser thus resolving this problem .Can you please do tell me why this fault occur , as there was note jam before near the prelvdt , and then while doing a a reset this fault occurred .
- This fault is a communications failure on the I2C bus to the pick modules. This can happen if the I2C cable is removed or plugged in without powering off first. Try clearing NVRAM on the control board.
- Hi Martin, do NCR make a version of the anti cash claw device for the selfserv series, to be more specific the 6625? If so do you happen to have the part number? Cheers,
- Testlink offer an anti cash trapping device for S1 dispensers. Part Number 3010006001. Please contact Testlink for further information 01202 627127. (julie.day@testlink.co.uk)
- Hi Martin, Please explain the difference in between Presenter NID 230V 445-0682174 and Presenter NID 230V 445-0680395. These both presenters can assemble on NCR Persona 5877? i found there is no green wheel on above mention 2nd presenter and part number while 1st one have this. what is the function of this green wheel ???
- These presenters are the same in fit and function and can be considered as alternatives. The green wheel may or may not be included with a refurbished part as it not a part that fails and would be transferred from the defective module by the engineer. The green wheel's purpose is to aid the engineer to turn the transport rollers by hand.
- Hi Martin can I have same suggestion about this case ,usb cash dispenser comms failure between PC and device
- Hello, Normally you would not get a "comms failure" message - the device simply would not be seen in the list. Try testing with ATMdesk and see if it reports the dispenser as present. If the message you are getting is an I2C comms error then your problem lies with the pick modules or pick I/F boards. In this case try disconnecting the lower pick module and resetting NVRAM on the dispenser control board. You will need to load the full Application Software after an NVRAM clear to reload the firmware.
Card Reader
- What causes possible tampering error on NCR Card Reader mainly on ATMs running Aptra?
- The most likely cause will be a faulty or badly adjusted card detect (width) switch. The shutter switch could also cause "tampering" error messages.
- I would like to know if this part number 445-0679257 (MECHANICAL INHIBITOR 5884/5) is suitable for NCR 5886, 5886s, 5887, and 5884. If not, please, give me the appropriate part numbers in order to negotiate with my customer regarding the quantities.
- 445-0679257 is correct for the 5884 and 5885. You will need 445-0680115 for the 5886 and 5887
- Hi Martin , on an atm 6625 , on the usb card reader , I've got a problem i.e "card reader capture bin full soon ". On diagnostic mode no fault is seen on device status list . Clear nvram + sensor test and clean card test done . the message still present
- You must clear this status form the operating software as this is where the status is logged. The exact menu depends on the software installed but generally you need to clear the "SOH" or "Device Status" or choose the empty CC bin from the "Device Servicing" menu.
Wincor
- How can I reduce rejects on a 2150xe Wincor Nixdorf machine. The ATM rejects too many notes whether new or old, even if you do the reference value. What could be the solution?
- Try updating the firmware level to the latest version - you may need to update the operating system as this reloads firmware each time it boots
- do we have a cd for WINCOR so that we can access diagnostic as we do on NCR ATM to access it .
- Unfortunately ATMdesk for Wincor is not available yet.
Deposit
- Hi Martin , I've got a problem on an ATM NCR MODEL 6634 , with his deposit assembly , the problem is that I have replace a short sleeve onto a long sleeve , thus readjusting the exit sensor , the problem is that the main deposit board do not recognize it , it still behaves like a short sleeve even though I have readjust the exit sensor , reset has been done , reinitialize the deposit assy with atmdesk dongle done , but the problem is that the deposit assy , behaves as if it is a short sleeve .Can you please inform if it is problem with aptra if there is some modifications that should be made .
- When you added the long nose extension, please make sure you relocated the exit sensor to the new nose (you will need to release some cable ties to do this). Also connect the jumper to the 2 pin plug in the harness
- Hi Martin I have gbru which is coming with M- Status 34 Escrow Transport Error M- Data 4450 E107 Funny enough it takes customer deposits and credit them then immediately it comes with device recovery, when I pullout the recycler the customer notes are in the entry of the SEPARATOR just after the PRE ACCEPTOR and the other notes are in the ESCROW.
- Hello, The data suggests that you have a problem with the EDRS or EDLS sensor. Try examining/cleaning the sensors in this area.
Operator Panel
- i have an ncr atm 5684 which put itsself into supervisor mode during the cause of the day i have replace the safe interlock as a suspect the atm managed to work for three day then the problem started again from there i replaced the enhanced OP Panel then it worked for 2 weeks now the problem has started again i am now thinking of replacing misc/f board
- If there is an auto-supervisor kit fitted then remove the bottom plug (5 pin connector) and use the switch on the EOP to go into normal mode. If the problem still exists then there may be an SDC cable problem - try an SDC repair harness between the EOP and the Miscellaneous Interface PCB.
